Planet Dog is definitely one of the coolest businesses around. They are eco friendly and community minded in everything they do. Their toys are non-toxic, recyclable, buoyant, and mint flavored. Their mission statement is “Our mission is to amuse, explore, support, innovate, create, educate, celebrate and philanthropate…all in the name of the dog.”
They have a fine line of rubber products that come in three different formulas for the stages of life we share with our dogs. There is a line for puppy that is a softer rubber for those teething times, a line of sturdy products for the adult dog and a line for “Old Souls” which is extra soft for weakened jaw strength and older teeth. Their toys are well designed and extremely durable. They have their signature ball called the Orbee in different shapes and sizes. There are bones, vegetable shaped toys and other shapes some with a “treat spot” where you can load up some treats to challenge your dog.
Planet Dog is now expanding with a line of dog care products that are all eco friendly and made in the USA. They also have a new line of organic treats that they make.
Their store in Portland, Maine offers locals events and fundraisers all year round.
The Planet Dog Foundation is a non-profit organization started by these fine folk that gives money out to programs that deal with all aspects of service dogs and their owners. In addition they sponsor adopt a pet programs.
I have used their products with several dogs. They are all in basically the same shape that they were when I bought them, except there is some dog drool on them. All my dogs have thoroughly enjoyed playing with Planet Dog’s products and I really enjoy doing business with a company so globally minded. A great company for sure.
