August 9 thru August 15
This has been a good week all the way around. We got back into walking everyday which helps the energy levels. Her leg injury is just fine and she is doing well with it. We did take it fairly easy
On Friday we went to the mountains for a little beat the heat weekend and took Miss Ellie with us. She rode very nicely as it was a four hour drive to the mountains. She was pretty well behaved but she just has a problem figuring out why she can chew a stick outside but cannot chew on the furniture, which in a cabin is mostly made of branches.
Saturday we went to an arts festival. There are lots of dog lovers at artsy gatherings. Lots of people wanted to say hello and Ellie ate it up. She loves people and loves the attention. She tries to jump on everyone though. I was talking to a vendor, next to a puddle and she just laid down in it and rolled around. She had everyone laughing. What the heck.
We had a great little hike in a park in the middle of town. Being on a mountain this little hike turned into a medium strenuous one down to some water falls. Got her good and worn out. She’s pulling hard on the leash and choking herself still even though I have tried working with her.
Sunday we stopped in a new pet store and bought a new designed harness. This one has padded straps and does not have the straps that go under the front legs. Those types have caused some problems in the past with rubbing under the front legs. It seems to help even after a partial day of using. She is walking easier and not choking. We had to buy one that is larger than she so she can grow into it. It still fits but loosely. We went to local turn of the century estate and walked around. As usual she attracted Labrador lovers. The rest of the day was spent driving around as it was raining pretty hard all day.
She did great on her first big adventure. She is cute as a puppy and draws a crowd where ever she goes.
